The block internship in general medicine takes place over a period of two weeks for students in their sixth clinical semester.
Assignments to teaching practices are made shortly before the start of the semester, based on the group assignments made by the Dean's Office. Students are informed of their assignments by email. The place of residence of students can only be taken into account to a limited extent (by postal code) when making assignments. For capacity reasons, it is not always possible to assign students to practices in the city of Bonn. However, our practices outside the city are also easily accessible by public transport.
At the beginning of the semester, there is a mandatory introductory event online for all students registered in BASIS (including general medicine vacation block internships).
Students who wish to bring forward their internship to the semester break should proceed as follows:
- Register with your university ID by emailing lehre.hausarztmedizin@ukbonn.de, and you will then be sent a list of teaching medical practices.
- Contact a potential teaching practice and agree on the period for the block internship.
- Please inform the Institute of Family Medicine by email, providing your university ID, when and at which practice you will be completing your block internship in general medicine.
Grades are always entered into BASIS at the end of the month once we have received the assessment form from the teaching doctor's practice. Students are also asked to evaluate their teaching doctor's practice in the “Blockpraktikum Allgemeinmedizin” (General Medicine Block Placement) course room on eCampus.
If you have any questions about your block internship in general medicine, please feel free to contact us by email at lehre.hausarztmedizin@ukbonn.de.
