Culinary Medicine & Planetary Health is a combination of nutritional science and medicine with practical culinary arts. The aim is to teach prospective doctors the basics of nutritional therapy and, at the same time, how they can motivate their patients to lead healthier lives based on natural foods, practical cooking skills, and appealing recipes. The elective is a collaboration with the University of Göttingen, where it has been offered in a similar form since the summer semester of 2020. For more information, please visit: https://culinarymedicine.de/projektbeschreibung/
The elective consists of the following modules:
Eight seminars with integrated cooking classes (3 hours each) directly related to the indication groups and diets published in the evidence-based guide Nutrition Therapy in Clinics and Practice (LEKuP) with relevant case studies and recipes. A selection of the recipes will be cooked by the participating students in their own kitchens.
