Interdisciplinary field of medicine focusing on aging and the elderly (geriatrics)

The interdisciplinary field of medicine of aging and the aging person (geriatrics) is a course for students in their fifth clinical semester. The team of lecturers from the fields of family medicine, orthopedics, geriatrics, neurology, and internal medicine teach the following topics:

  • Introduction (lecture, January 12, 2025, 5:30 p.m. in the lecture hall of the teaching building)
  • Instant aging
  • Polypharmacy
  • Geriatric traumatology
  • The three D's: dementia, depression, delirium
  • Gait disturbance/falls/frailty
