In the course “Medical Psychology and Medical Sociology,” medical students in their first and fourth clinical semesters learn basic psychological and sociological skills that will be important in their future professional lives. The course consists of a series of lectures and in-depth seminars on various topics.
As a guest lecturer, Prof. Dr. med. Birgitta Weltermann uses a clinical example to illustrate the biopsychosocial model of illness and highlights the importance of close cooperation between family doctors as general practitioners and doctors from other disciplines in caring for our patients. The lecture takes place in a hybrid format every summer semester.
The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Section for Medical Psychology at the University Hospital Bonn is the point of contact for the course. More information can be found here.
