Digital.Pulse – Empowering Students in Family Medicine 4.0

Elective course for students in the General Practice clinical rotation

The Digital.Pulse project launches an innovative educational program for medical students in the general practice rotation of their clinical internship. The goal is to actively integrate the digital transformation in primary care into the training curriculum. At the heart of the program is the Digital.Pulse curriculum, which teaches practical skills in areas such as digital health applications (DiGA), mHealth, and digital practice management.

The program combines theoretical foundations with application-oriented teaching formats in which digital tools can be tried out and tested in everyday practice. Students should be able to critically evaluate digital tools and use them in a targeted manner. Interaction with experts from various disciplines promotes interdisciplinary learning. Digital.Pulse is supported by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education as part of the “Freiraum” funding program—an important impetus for future-oriented medical education. The project will enter its implementation phase in July with clinical rotation students in teaching practices. Upon completion, the students will receive a certificate.

Heard of them, but haven’t tried them yet? Digital.Pulse offers 10 hybrid courses in which experts introduce digital topics. You’ll get hands-on experience using these tools directly with patients and/or through self-study.
